Our Story

Years ago, I was employed working for a local electrical contractor company which did heavy commercial electrical.  I ran many jobs for the company as a Foreman.  One day I was given an ultimatum, and forced to leave town to work in a faraway city to keep my job as an electrician or take a layoff until I was called back for work.  I put four years of hard work and dedication into this company, and it felt unfair that this was happening.  It was during the end of the pandemic, and I couldn’t just leave my young family of five and sell everything to relocate for an undetermined time.  So, I took the layoff and realized that the best thing to do to buy time back with my family was start my own business. This became the birth of Matthews Electric.  I was able to take six years of word-of-mouth clientele and turn it into a full-time business.  Now we are a local electrical contractor located in SA, TX.  Matthews Electric offers a variety of services to satisfy residential & commercial customers.  We stand on Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty, and Commitment to Excellence and take every opportunity to make every job a pleasant, and professional experience while saving you valuable time and money. “Tim is absolutely amazing, let me tell you. I shopped around a few places but Tim was 1, available to come out and give me a quote same day and was able to squeeze me in for service just 2 days later (It wasn’t a major outage so I didn’t mind the wait). So for context, I had 1 outside outlet that was out and 3 kitchen outlets out (due to a bad breaker that Tim identified). Tim didn’t try to pressure me into anything and truly educated me on the issues (which no other electrician did). He was honest and fair with him pricing, which was the icing on the cake for me. Come service day, Tim was punctual and quick! We’ve had no issues thus far with our outlets or breakers, and he guarantees his work, which is an incredible peace of mind.
